A Light Discovered
Through Change
I’m Bokyung Seo, founder of Lumière Dorée. After being diagnosed with Young-Onset Parkinson’s disease in 2023, my life began to move in a direction I had never expected.
During that period of uncertainty, candle making became more than a creative pursuit. It became a calming ritual—a reason to slow down, breathe, work with my hands, and reconnect with the present moment.
What began as a personal source of comfort gradually became Lumière Dorée, meaning Golden Light. The name reflects the warmth, resilience, and hope I wanted every creation to carry.
